Simple Present Tense digunakan untuk mengungkapkan kebiasaan dan fakta. Rumus simple present tense terbagi menjadi 2 yaitu untuk kalimat verbal dan nominal. Rumus simple present tense untuk kalimat verbal adalah sebagai berikut :

+) S + V1 (s/es) + OTW*

-) S + do/ does + not + OTW

?) Do/ does + S + V1 + OTW

 Contoh kebiasaan :                                         Contoh fakta:

+) Damar goes to school every morning.                        + ) The sun shines from the east every morning.

-) Damar does not go to school every morning.             -) The sun doesn’t shine from the east every morning.

?) Does Damar go to school every morning?                 ?) does the sun shines from the east every morning?

Sedangkan rumus semple present tense untuk kalimat nomilal adalah sebagai berikut :

+) S + Are/am/is + otw

- ) S + Are/am/is + not + otw

?) Are/am/is + S+ otw

Contoh :

+) she is beautiful

-) she is not beautiful

?) is she beautiful?

-          Otw                       : objek, tempat, waktu

-          V1 s/es                  : untuk subjek he, she, it

-          Do                         : untuk subjek I, you, we, they

-          Am                        : untuk I

-          Is                           : untuk he, she, it
